Paint to Order

For the first few years that I painted professionally I refused to do commission pieces for anyone — not even my friends and family! My career before painting was as a graphic designer, and my job was to create designs according to some one else's vision. Needless to say, I was pretty burnt out on that type of work, so I was very hesitant to try and paint according to some one else's vision. It really stressed me out and gave me a creative block every time.

I think what changed is that now I feel much more comfortable and secure in my painting style. That in itself really has given me the confidence to finally work with someone else's vision.

An additional bonus to taking on commissioned pieces, is the relationships that I've been able to build. The clients usually have a specific place in their home and a color scheme they are looking for. When Molly (pictured with jean jacket) approached me about creating 3 pieces for her client, Kristi (also pictured), they had these specific nooks in mind for the final display. She sent me the colors of the home and we discussed some of the design elements from my previous paintings. From there, we chose the best way to incorporate these details into the new paintings. Everyone was very happy with the final results.

I am opening up a few commission spots that can be finished before Christmas. If you are interested please just send me an email or message me.
